BirdLife International Africa, in the framework of the COBIA project, is organizing a workshop from September, 24th to 26th in Dakar.

The workshop aims at sharing the preliminary results of the process of drawing up sensitivity maps on marine and coastal biodiversity. This mapping of vulnerable marine areas, in the coastal and offshore areas of West Africa, is an essential tool to support the argument with potential offshore oil and gas majors who would like to settle in these areas.

Scientific, experts, NGOs, companies and civil society actors are invited to discuss marine biodiversity management issues together as oil projects multiply in the region.
